Neurofeedback is a type of biofeedback that teaches clients to regulate their own brain wave activity. The purpose of neurofeedback is to enhance one’s cognitive functioning that has been decreased due to various psychological, emotional, and physical issues. By utilizing neurofeedback, clients can expect the following:
- Increased concentration
- Decreased impulsivity and hyperactivity
- Reduce anxiety or mood fluctuations
- Enhance sleep quality
First, you will meet with an English-speaking psychaitrist for a consult to figure out if you are a good candidate for neurofeedback. Then, the psychiatrist will help you to determine the number of sessions needed and didscuss your your goals.
You start neurofeedback. As data are collected, we will analyze your results and receive feedback from the psychiatrist. Then, you will keep training with neurofeedback and enter the maintenance phase.
Typically, if you wish to enhance sleep quality, 10-20 sessions are needed. For reducing anxiety or mood fluctuations, about 20 sessions are needed. For decreasing impulsivity and hyperactivity, 20-40 sessions are recommended. Training and increasing concentration varies by person, and our psychiatrist will help you determine the number of sessions recommended.
Neurofeedback services is not covered by insurances and needs to be paid out-of-pocket. Therefore, we are offering this service at an affordable cost.
